Government and official forms

This article uses a formal tone because government, licensing, and regulatory filings carry legal weight. my-id.ca is a productivity tool for entering text you already intend to supply, alongside official instructions, program eligibility rules, and professional advice (legal, immigration, tax, or otherwise) when you need it.

Applicability

Some public-sector or regulated flows are implemented as long web forms with repeated biographical and address fields. Where the operator permits standard browser autofill-style entry, you may use my-id.ca autofill in the same way as other sites: enable autofill only for that official domain, insert suggestions, then verify every field against supporting documents (passport, notices of assessment, permits).

User responsibilities

Read the entire instruction set for the program or filing type before you begin.
Accuracy: You remain responsible for the truth and completeness of submitted information.
Declarations: If a checkbox attests that answers are true under penalty of perjury or equivalent, you must understand what you are attesting to.
Eligibility: Program rules and your circumstances determine eligibility; my-id.ca helps you enter accurate facts you already hold in one consistent place.

Forms where manual entry fits better

Forms that prohibit browser extensions or require a locked-down kiosk environment.
Fields that demand calculated legal or tax outcomes rather than stored contact data.
Situations where a regulated representative (lawyer, consultant, accountant) should prepare the filing.

Technical note

Official portals sometimes use non-standard widgets. If suggestions stay hidden, enter those fields manually from your documents. A quiet suggestion list usually reflects a custom widget layout—it says nothing about program eligibility.
